812740 2009-09-22 07:02:00 No withdrawal symptoms yet. Mind you, the only Sky program I watched in the last week was TV1's "South" which was also on my HD Freeview box.

Probably won't need withdrawal patches!

There really isn't much on it worth watching. Movies you can getr out on DVD. The only thing is live sport, but, but for the big games you can always go to a friends, or to a pub.

812744 2009-09-22 07:18:00 I got Sky MyHDi a while ago as my old decoder was playing up and got talked into it. It cost $99 to get installed and they did a multiroom installation for me. Not that it took much to do that as there were Sky leads to both rooms and just had to hook the unused one up.

A break down of weekly approx costs are

Sky $11.74/wk
Sport $3.87/wk
MySky HD1 surcharge $3.46/wk
Multiroom + HD $5.76

That comes to $24.83/wk or $107.60/month

A bit overpriced I thought. That is without Movies, Arts Channel, Rugby Channel, Rialto or Music. Add those and that would make it $154.10 per month.

By the way, I have had Sky for over 17 years to date!

812746 2009-09-22 07:42:00 I used to really enjoy Sky. But since mum passed away my brother and I couldn't justify the cost. Also we hardly ever watch TV these days so we're saving on power costs as well. Greg (193)

812748 2009-09-22 07:46:00 Since getting rid of it in march, I have done a lot more around the house and with the kids. Only missed it for a week, and yes it did rule my life. plod (107)
