We are getting closer to finishing the move . We have my tool shed and all the stuff with which I retired out in it, and lawn mowers, weed whackers, trimmers, chain saws etc to get into a large trailer that I helped build a few years ago, and haul it all to the new place tomorrow by noon or so . Today my wife and I ordered the new furniture and refrigerator and a huge burner stove . I hate cooking on a tiny flame - as it takes 1/2 hour to bring a big pot to boil and I don't care for that at all . Friday and Saturday, the last of the furnishing go - that monster bed I bought a couple of years ago and the other two bedrooms of stuff, a few E-Z chairs, a TV and a home theater, speakers and just some small clothing that's left yet . I should be gone from here by the 29th the way it's going . Yippee! On to clean air and a slightly cooler area . Snow can happen there a lot easier than here since it's at 4,300 feet, whereas Hemet is 1,492 . One year there and then on to Arizona for real! In the wings is a trip to Upsidedown Land . Does anyone know about this place: The Rendezvous Hotel Auckland situated in the heart of Auckland, is New Zealands largest and most luxuriously appointed hotel . With an array of accommodation options that range from the indulgent to the divine . Package Includes: 18 Night Stay in Deluxe Guest Room w/2 round-trip tickets Price: $ 3,378 - $ 1,689 USD per person - Includes: Flight + Hotel, Tax Recovery Charge & Service Fees Right now it looks like if I take a combo-pack with a room for the full 18 days, I get a better rate than if I buy just plane tickets alone! The time is not yet ripe to get froggy and buy tickets - I've got some research to do yet . |

| 812935 | 2009-09-24 07:06:00 | I have to concur with LL... Taupo is a beautiful part of the country. Lots of tasteful restaurants, pubs, and takeaways, and especially some wonderful motels with great views. Be sure to visit Huka Falls if you head down there. The emerald coulered water is a real natural wonder. And of course the Lake (NZ's largest) is quite a site, and trips on the water can be really great. And as mentioned, trout fishing... Taupo district could arguably be called the trout fishing capital of the world. |
