Got a chap who sounded like he was in India,he got me to change settings which I did not follow,the result,I am now faster than all of you,so there:)

Probably a fair portion of the sites concerned are now being loaded from the cache on your hard drive by now anyway. :eek:

What was changed do you remember Cic
There is very little that can be done at your end that would affect your speed. Are you now able to get that website you were having a problem with.
I am thinking that the MTU settings in your modem may have been changed which is about all that I can think of that could be done at your end.
Do you remember if there was a setting in your modem that was changed probably to something like a setting of 1492

Sorry Saf,you are right re changing #'s,but they meant nothing to me.
As he went through the#'we came upon one lot and he said,that was likey to be a problem and it proved to be the case.
I don't think it was speed as much as ability to connect when site found.

It was the modem settings.

That's what I thought. Is it a D-Link modem by any chance as they seem to be very sensitive to MTU settings.
You would have had trouble connecting to other websites as well apart from the one you mentioned if you had checked further.

The Modem is a N Belkin,you are right,re other sites,I gave that one as an example only.
