| 1107771 | 2010-06-10 11:47:00 | Apparently iMovie doesn't like the h.264 content that Roxio created, so I'll re-do it as h.263 and see :-/ | Chilling_Silence (9) | ||
| 1107772 | 2010-06-11 07:08:00 | I've never touched a Tivo, but in principle it should be similar to other PVR recorders. The proceedure that I go through with my Panasonic is as follows: The Panny creates a folder with 2 small files, and a larger file (the media) with the extension .VRO Rename the extension to .mpg, and trash the smaller files. Edit at will as you would any other mpg. :) HOWEVER! The whole thing turns to grief if the file was editted on the PVR beforehand. Trimming off either end with the Panny is fine, but cut and splice type operations (ie removing ads) buggers it up. These edits have to be done later on with the mpg instead. The cut and splice seems to be handled by actually leaving a bit of excess media within the splice, and using the smaller files to specify where the actual splice should take place within the VRO. The VRO once renamed to mpg is lacking this splice-timing info, and everything goes out of sync at the edit points. Also had to set the Panny to encode the audio in AC3. In fact, there's a bewildering array of settings, all of which may or may not influence the success or otherwise of it all. Good luck. Would love to hear of any strategy that works. |
