812886 2009-09-22 23:55:00 Is Kool-Aid contraband?

Highly unlikely, but see: www.biosecurity.govt.nz

If may be worth ringing or emailing them just to make sure. Just be aware that even if something is permitted, you still need to declare it when you go through MAF at the airport.

812887 2009-09-22 23:56:00 There aren't as many Trout in the Mot river as there used to be. It's a bit barren now. wratterus (105)
812888 2009-09-22 23:57:00 I had no idea that Jen was a penguin herder.

MY-o-my what I learn on the internet!

812889 2009-09-23 01:01:00 Herder? No way, Jen is a noted Penguin educator and teaches them tricks like calculus and operating computers.
She has been so successful that there is no longer any need for Penguin Computer Manuals, and they are out of print. Naturally, being well educated Penguins, they do not use Winderz in any shape or form, and being carnivores they eschew Apples.

812890 2009-09-23 01:27:00 It would be OUTSTANDING if you could stay in Napier for a few days.

Sadly I can't offer you a room - we don't have a spare. But... when my daughters visited here recently from Aus I found a local motel which is close to town, good and clean, and very reasonably priced. I paid NZ$300 for 6 days. Their daily rate is a bit more for shorter stays but I'd be happy to negotiate on your behalf. I'm good at that!

One of the best aspects of this particular place is that the hosts are amongst the friendliest folks I've met in any acommodation place here in NZ.

And of course if you could spend a few days down in this part of the country I could drive you both around to see some of the great natural scenery.

Sheesh Joe... it would be awesome if you could come over! I sure hope it happens!

ps - no need to bring Kool-Aid... we can get it rather inexpensively from you via USA! LOL

February is our hottest month. But it's probably tame compared to where you've been living!

Another benefit of visiting Napier is you'll meet many of your sprititual brothers and sisters, including my youngest brother.

I really hope it happens!

812894 2009-09-23 02:25:00 Hi Joe. Make your visit after the first week of February. Most schools finish their long summer holidays during that week and this frees up a lot of accommodation and traffic from the roads in areas such as ours.

And remember which side of the road you are going to drive on. We regularly lose an overseas visitor who forgets the basic rule after pulling off to sight-see or take a break. Occasionally take out a local as well.

812895 2009-09-23 02:50:00 We have put the breweries on notice about the extra shifts that will be required, you had better make sure your Vegemite shots are up to date. A couple of hours a week standing right way up will help your body acclimatise, so you can enjoy your trout winching exercises properly. R2x1 (4628)
