812693 2009-09-22 16:03:00 Thanks for your responses and observations. This does not really resolve the issue for me, as it seems that nearly everyone has a different answer. I should either project slides on the screen and take a digital photo, or purchase an expensive (or inexpensive) scanner and do it myself, or pay a professional service to digitize my collection. thiggy (11892)
812694 2009-09-22 22:27:00 Only you can decide how much time and effort you want to allocate to preserve those treasured family "memories".

Believe me, it takes ages to do so, but it is well worth it in the end :)

Use the scanner and do it yourself - a professional will charge you the earth :(

812695 2009-09-23 04:23:00 After some soul-searching, reading comments in various fourms, and reading reviews, this morning I ordered (from Amazon.com) an Epson V500 scanner. www.epson.com After it arrives and I use it some, I will report on my experience. Thanks again for the replies. thiggy (11892)
