Please bear in mind though that this person has a history of previous drink driving offences which may have been taken into account and rightly so.

The person who presumably will be sentenced for the incident on Tamaki Drive is a different matter however as we have no idea of previous history.

Agreed but presumably we should see sentencing happen on the 17th of this month unless there is another delay by the prosecution or defence for any reason.

If the prosecution have not been able to gather evidence from the person who has been in hospital for a lengthy period it may not go toward the sentence as such. Like a victim impact statement as such.

Talking of which I guess all the group to which you belong are all victims in a way.

But can you honestly say that that the experience of having a mate seriously injured by the actions of another has not impacted on the group as a whole?

No - it has impacted us in many ways. We just prefer not to think of ourselves as victims (or potential victims)
