814119 2009-12-07 01:52:00 I just WISH cars would have more respect for cyclists. I'm not saying that cars are totally to blame but they should be more concerned about human life rather than get to their destination quickly. When I'm biking I follow one rule. The cars are will ALWAYS come out better off in an accident and I always assume that they havn't seen me. xyz823 (13649)

Sigh.

Cars do nothing on their own except rust.
They don't have eyes so they can't see cyclists.
Some cars don't want to go anywhere as evidenced by wreckers yards and some sections.:annoyed:

Cars do nothing on their own except rust and depreciate (with some exceptions).

814124 2009-12-11 00:46:00 (If you're not guess-who, don't read this.)

After this distressing accident, ACC are about to rule that all cyclists must wear leathers, spinal and neck braces, armoured leggings, and a full face helmet during the hours of daylight and darkness. The cost of enforcing this legislation will be covered by empowering every bus driver to levy $20.00 plus GST from each cyclist they encounter. Any cyclist failing to pay will be attached to the front of the bus and used to hit other cyclists. Attempting to catch a recalcitrant cyclist shall be a full and proper defence for any bus diver speeding in a bus lane, aka green free-fire zone.
