1107716 2010-06-07 08:27:00 Hi

I've down loaded Net Traffic Meter 2.1.2 for Windows in an attempt to monitor my Internet usage in Real time. However, when I'm on the Net it doesn't seem to be responding to any of the traffic, despite the fact that the monitor is active. I've uninstalled it using Revo Uninstaller, downloaded it from a different site and reinstalled it but the situation is still the same.

Anyone got any ideas as to why this is happening?

Thanks

1107717 2010-06-07 08:47:00 Perhaps it is set to monitor the wrong network adapter? Blam (54)
1107718 2010-06-07 10:11:00 Hi Blam

There was only one option "Global Network Traffic"

1107719 2010-06-08 02:30:00 Something I have used for a long long time is DU Supercontroller (www.homeqos.com)

with this you see exactly what is going up or down by anything transferring data, and you can throttle the up or down for any particular process

It's pretty old, and hasnt been updated for ages, but still works great for me (I run XP)

may be of use to you...

1107720 2010-06-08 03:01:00 I tried Net Traffic Meter in Windows 7 Home Premium and installed .NET Framework 1.1 as it says is required, but it wouldn't run, just sat there looking dumb !
Installed it on XP Pro and it works fine.

Note that the program is from 2007 and the OS requirements only go up to Vista.
"Operating system: Windows Me/2000/XP/Vista/NT " from cnet.com, though other sites say Windows all, but that means up to Vista bearing in mind the program date,

Also their website is kaput....up for sale, so no Win7 update by the look of it.

With XP the program found all ethernet adapters and the Intel Gigabyte Network Connection.

With Windows 7 it just found the "Global Network Traffic" as you mentioned. Best to give this one away if using Win 7.

1107721 2010-06-08 07:36:00 Thanks bevy121

Hi Terry - I'm on Vista Home Premium SP 1. I'm starting to wonder whether it requires a physical (cable) link from the laptop to the modem - I'm using wireless. I've download a windows "gadget" that moniters a wireless link (there's one for cable as well) but it doesn't do anywhere near as much as Net Traffic Meter whic is a pain cos NTM has got some really useful features.

Can anybody confirm or deny the wireless theory?

Thanks
