| 1107311 | 2010-06-06 07:17:00 | So I got the dreaded email from Vodafone telling me that I've gone over my monthly cap and will only be able to download at 64kbs for the rest of my billing cycle (another 10 days). I haven't shut down my pc since going over the 20GB limit. Do I have to keep it on to avoid being slowed down or is this a temporary glitch and can I expect to be slowed down in due course? |

They will catch up with you. Remember it is a holiday weekend, but they will slow you down unless you choose to buy more data. LL |

LL Well I would have thought that they'd have an automated system that would slow me down. Just curious....up to 32GB on my 20GB plan now :) Amazing how quick you can get through it. |

Better make the most of it before someone flicks the switch. Just think of all those Linux distros... |

| 1107318 | 2010-06-06 08:20:00 | When did you go over? Usually they reset it over night. Yesterday morning. That's what I thought but I do recall a few years ago with either ihug or Orcon that you would only be reset if you logged off their network. I could be wrong about that but there were definitely frequent glitches from time to time that could be taken advantage of. I have to say that I don't go over my cap often enough with Vodafone to know how it works. If I do go over, it's usually with a day or so to spare, but this time it'll be a week or so. Doesn't worry me but it will annoy the missus somewhat when she goes online clothes shopping during the week - all those crazy Flash websites are bandwith demanding. :) |

| 1107320 | 2010-06-06 08:27:00 | If it doesn't slow down, I'd be opening the next ISP invoice very slowly - you may or or may not get a shock. | wainuitech (129) | ||
