1106926 2010-06-05 01:04:00 I am trying to burn MP3 files to CD using Nero 6 and now the trial version of Nero Media Suite 10. Also tried Cyberlink Power to Go. The simulation or burn each get to about 20% and then the burn fails - cyclic redundancy error or error reading data. Burning speed 4x and cache 16mb and also tried 30mb. The largest file is 28mb. The Pioneer burner burns ok for audio and data cd's. Any suggestions? Krad (7878)

1106928 2010-06-05 01:10:00 Have you tried a free burning program like burnaware free or CDburnerXP which is just a name it runs on all MS OS's, I personally use burnaware free and have never had an issue with burning whatever including MP3's gary67 (56)
1106929 2010-06-05 04:30:00 Maybe there is a limitation with the trial version, or its not set for the MP3 (depending on bit rates, bit type - constant or variable...So may depend on the source of the MP3. How were the MP3's encoded? What program? or what are their original source? (e.g. from video, CD). I use the free burning programs as noted above without problems. kahawai chaser (3545)

I set Nero etc to simulate/burn mp3's and data and have burned single tracks of music in the past (not large files of combined tracks of up to 28mb mp's). They all play well and I check them before burning.I've always used Audacity to edit them and save as mp3. I'll try burnaware free and the other free one. Could it be the burner itself that is the problem? How can I check it out?

1106931 2010-06-05 21:48:00 Well don't know about any software tools (freeware - and I have reviewed dozens of mp3 tools and freeware) to test burners; Have you tried a test run/burn of the associated mp3 as a wav file - to see if it burns/or could burn. But what is the mp3 file? A soundtrack, concert (continuous recording), or a combo of music files or what? I mean are their silence gaps in the file, or different bit rates.

But again, what program (I assume you encoded them or you know) was used to encode to mp3? and what source - where are they from....

1106932 2010-06-05 23:32:00 Are you trying to burn as Audio or Data?

Maybe the read error is telling you there's a problem with the source file and it can't be read (corrupt file on HDD perhaps?)

The files were originally wav and converted to 192 mp3's using Audacity. Theyall played ok but Nero and Power to Go both wouldn't burn them. But ...
Success at last after weeks trying to simulate burning without success.
I downloaded Burnaware Free and burned the mp3 files to a CD-RW disc successfully and after that burnt two CDR's. Excellent!

1106934 2010-06-09 08:07:00 Yes burnaware free is all I ever use now, it's free, simple and intuitive. I have tried others but always come back to this one gary67 (56)
