2009-09-24 22:52:00 | "To put this in perspective, copying a 6Gb movie from an external drive with bog standard USB typically takes just over 2 hours. Using USB 3.0 it'll slip to a jaw dropping 3.3 minutes." No mention that the speeds of the hard drives themselves are the limitations at the moment.

2009-09-24 23:05:00 | Well no, because there's also SATA 3 and seagate have just released a SATA 3 hdd (2 TB). It looks like gigabyte have released a / or some mobos that support SATA 3. And some more expensive ASUS mobos also support it | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2009-09-24 23:05:00 | This statement To put this in perspective, copying a 6Gb movie from an external drive with bog standard USB typically takes just over 2 hours. is not correct!!.....LOL. 1) it does not take 2 hrs to copy 6Gb on my Voyager & 2) 10 x 3.3 minutes!...LOL. Still it will be very quick, close to SATA3, Hmmmm, holding off for Gulftown w\ SATA3 & USB3...wicked.

2009-09-25 01:25:00 | If USB 3 is supposed to be so fast, how come USB 1 got here 10 years earlier? ;) | R2x1 (4628) | |
2009-09-25 06:02:00 | 6Gb takes 2 hours? Then how did I copy 72Gb to a new 500Gb external drive in under an hour? Maybe 2 hours on USB 1.1, but not USB 2. As for the pin config, this (apcmag.com) might help.
