1108095 2010-06-08 07:42:00 I know this isn't a MAC forum but for those of you out there that have them can MS publisher files be imported into MAC's?

As have a friend in OZ who is writing memoirs and the files are in publisher for some reason. Anyway comp crashed and her son convinced her to buy the MAC (he needs slapping but my arms don't reach to OZ)

1108096 2010-06-08 07:47:00 Which version of Publisher please?

Also what is going to be the replacement application on the Mac?

1108097 2010-06-08 07:52:00 Doesnt look too good. According to Google there isnt much for a Mac. Unless you convert to something it can read (like PDF). Isnt there a version of Office for Mac? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1108098 2010-06-08 07:54:00 I just checked my Office 2007 Publisher and I can save in quite a number of formats including HTML, Text and PDF.

I can also publish as a filtered web site including all pictures if any.

1108099 2010-06-08 07:59:00 Yeah waiting to hear back from them. I was surprised they were using Publisher and not word. I guess they could dual boot but I think that would be a step too far gary67 (56)

If they need help converting into something usable I'm happy to help if wanted.

PM me if this helps.

1108101 2010-06-08 08:05:00 Just found this on google Zamzar (http://zamzar.com/) looks like it might be the go apparently has been used to convert to .doc and then MACS can read them gary67 (56)
1108102 2010-06-08 08:07:00 Someone here (forums.macrumors.com) went to zamzar, and:

I just used Zamzar to convert a pub document for my Mac. One hour later I started receiving spontaneous, unsolicited auditory commercials. I have never had this happen with my 5 year old mac. More than a coincidence...
I'd stay away from Zamzar!!!

Have you actually tried this and read the terms etc? I just uploaded a Pub file to there and requested an *.ODT file. I'm told I will get an email with a link so I can download the converted file. We will see.

1108104 2010-06-08 08:22:00 No I haven't that's why I'm asking on here before making any recommendations. SO what other formats do MAC's recognise? not having one limits my knowledge can they do word files? gary67 (56)
