815202 2009-09-29 18:53:00 Hi Guys

Just saw an ad on tv.
Telecom are advertising their new Big time broadband plan. For a fixed $59.95 a month you get unlimited data.
She says there will be no surprises !
I am sure there will be, just as how every other Telecom plan has some hitches.
What do you think ?
I must admit that the presenter of the ad could come and install it at my place anytime she wants !

Regards

815203 2009-09-29 18:57:00 You watching TV at 7:00 AM? Greg (193)
815204 2009-09-29 19:21:00 Big Time has managed network speeds, although some (e.g. file sharing) are slowed down more than others (like email). This is pointed out rather clearly though.

By no surprises, they mean bill surprises. ;)

815206 2009-09-29 19:39:00 Yup - I looked at that plan, but didn't like the idea of wobbly connection speeds to Youtube etc, so just opted for the 20Gb plan - same $$ per month, and more than enough cap. nofam (9009)

Been on it since the week it came out....love it. Have other friends on it as well that also love it.

In saying that I have heard of people that have gone on and come off it as it was too slow, and browsing was effectively dialup. Seems to be pretty dependant on where you are.

815211 2009-09-30 03:49:00 A workmate emailed Extra and asked them what was the lowest speed they would drop you down to on this plan.
They refused to tell him.
