1108125 2010-06-08 11:31:00 speaking of MAC's.....did you fix that issue you had with that MAC WT?? To be honest , I cant remember which problem that was.

I have had a couple of people ask for help with MAC's, but I also know when I'm out of my depth, so sent them off to people that know more than I do.

Did fix a persons down the road though - it was an IP address problem.

1108126 2010-06-08 21:41:00 Very true, something like CutePDF (www.cutepdf.com) ( first one that comes to mind) should be able to convert to PDF, it puts in an option under the Print settings.

Note: Wheres all the MAC users hiding tonight ??? Suggestions / workarounds :p
To be honest, most mac users would never use publisher. I haven't even when running windows. Its a heap of ****.

1108127 2010-06-08 22:22:00 Not all versions of Publisher can export as a PDF though which is why I asked what version of Publisher was used and I still don't know.

I have Publisher 2007 and it will save as a Word document (either .doc or .docx), which can be opened on a Mac in any number of apps including free OpenOffice.org, although it would probably be best to get Office for Mac 2008.

1108128 2010-06-09 08:09:00 All resolved, my friend borrowed a Windows laptop from a relation and is finishing the project on that. I am still surprised that there is no comparative MAC equivalent, but then again OO doesn't have an equivalent either gary67 (56)

There are mac equivalent programs, and also cross platform programs. But none that will read pub files.

So friend is happy so far but why not get the file(s) converted to a format that can be used on whatever the MAC has for an application that is usable by friend?

1108131 2010-06-09 08:40:00 She is happy to finish the project this way and only bought the MAC due to son pressure and now severely regrets the decision. I had no influence on the purchase as I only found out when I got asked for help. I wouldn't have steered her in either direction I would have said go find someone who has a MAC have a play then make your own decision. That said she will not need to do anything once the document has been printed as it will be the finished thing gary67 (56)

i think it was to do with the mac asking for the password everytime you wanted to print .

1108133 2010-06-09 08:53:00 @ Gary67.

Thanks for the update. It will be the finished thing when printed but if it ever wants an edit then that may be a different or similar issue.
