| 815846 | 2009-10-05 10:45:00 | I received the letter also. Just changed to Explorer, same price, higher cap, can not see the problem. Higher cap??? Wasn't Go Large unlimited allowance, so had not cap on it? Explorer only has a 10GB cap, tiny. |

Telecom didn't sell you a product (like a land rover), they are selling you a service. If the power company you buy your power from hikes its prices, you can switch to another. I'm still on Go Large and will be sad to see it go. Exactly. Both parties are free to cancel or amend it at any time, and that is perfectly fair enough. The only issue I have is their contracts, which charge you a huge fee if you cancel it. If they amend the terms of the contract that significantly change the offering, like they have done in this case, then they should release people from that contract without penalty. Vodafone did something similar to this to my brother, with their broadband plan. |

What Gradebdan said makes no sense, to me. Unless he is talking about the "Go" plan, but that would have been cheaper, not the same price as Explorer... |

Unless he is talking about the "Go" plan, but that would have been cheaper, not the same price as Explorer... I think he may have been taling about the upload and download speeds, which telecom confusingly refer to as 'Caps', and those are not capped. Really telecom should be using different terminology, such as 'no speed restrictions', instead of 'uncapped', which people will confuse with the data you download. |

| 815850 | 2009-10-06 04:45:00 | My apologies, For some reason I thought I was on a 5gb data cap with Go large. Seeing as I only got near to 5gb I was not bothered by the 10gb data cap. |

| 815851 | 2009-10-12 06:14:00 | I have my letter from telecom. Went onto telecoms site & checked to see if I could get adsl2 but because we live in the countery it is not installed in our exchange. I then rang them and complained they going to charg me an extra $10 for the same as I have on go large . After a bit they backed down ans said they would give me a $8.30 discount for the netx 12 mth's on the new plan as long as I kept my toll through them. Might be worth trying it if you cant get adsl2 | hylander (15286) | ||
| 815852 | 2009-10-12 23:41:00 | I got the letter. I download stuff from torrent sites. The new rules on the new discounted plan say they "will manage" peer to peer traffic. Damn right they do. Tried a number of files using Vuse and uTorrent and even during the 2am to 9am slot the download speed never exceeds 10kbps. On the old plan I could get download speeds of 200kbps with normal hours of up to 100kbps. So I will be waiting for the 3 months to elapse and go onto the 20Gb plan or change isp. Normal line speed under adsl was 1.8mbps. adsl2 6.9mbps using the same modem. Not impressed with Telecom |
