The 240B1CB uses a TN panel, while the other one uses an IPS panel I work in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) - so lines need to look right and colours need to look right, but probably not as essential as a graphic designer (not sure really!). I didn't like it when I went from the 21" CRT to the 19" LCD - the picture didn't look so clear. I am guessing LCD screens these days are better than the LCD I got several years ago now, so probably not a huge difference between the two anymore. Maybe I should ask for a trial for a week each and see what the difference is... I don't know if the supplier will do this (but they should...) Mike. |

If image quality (eg colour accuracy and reproduction, contrast, viewing angles etc) are important, then get the IPS. They are used by graphic and print designers (where the printed product has to look the same as it does on screen). I have one purely because it is the only TFT tech that matches CRT. If image quality isn't that important, then get the TN. You'll still be able to distinguish lines and colours, but things like viewing angles, colour etc wont be to the same level. Images on LCDs should be sharper than a CRT unless the LCD is not running at its native resolution, hope that helps... |
