1108105 2010-06-08 08:39:00 No I haven't that's why I'm asking on here before making any recommendations. SO what other formats do MAC's recognise? not having one limits my knowledge can they do word files?

A MAC ( I presume ) has to have an O/S and Applications to do anything useful. You can install Word on a MAC but I don't know if they have and hence my questions and offer to help. Windows does not come with Word but does come with Wordpad and Notepad for example.

I hope I'm not offending you.

1108106 2010-06-08 08:43:00 Yeah was wanting to know since its a new MAC whether they have any office software and if so will it recognise any MS office file formats. I can do a conversion to word or notepad but until I know if MACS can read any of those files there is no point in me doing any conversions. I'm not offended gary67 (56)
1108107 2010-06-08 08:48:00 They can use Crossover office on their MAC
and install their Windows version of Office.

Then they will have Publisher.

Then they will have Publisher. Close but no cigar I think -- Scroll down to "Supported Applications" PUBLISHER is not in the list.

Looked at MS Office 2008 for MAC (www.microsoft.com) for MAC - once again, every application apart from Publisher.

Correct. No Publisher for a MAC so therefore it has to be established what Applications the MAC has either natively or installed like Word or Open Office etc.

1108112 2010-06-08 09:33:00 Interesting that no MAC version is available I'm surprised gary67 (56)

Why are you surprised? Office was not invented to run on a MAC anyway but as I already said more info needed in my view.

1108114 2010-06-08 09:56:00 So, either they convert the file, use Parallels (or similar) to run Windows on the Mac or run a PC with Windows? KarameaDave (15222)
