815239 2009-09-29 22:15:00 Nothing here.

If it was serious I'd head to Bluff Hill.

I'd say its a bit of a non-event.

815240 2009-09-29 22:17:00 I’m sitting here in Mount Maunganui with my rods over the deck rail trying to catch tea.

No water, no bites, no tea. :groan:

Must have struck a Spring Low.

Tax it I say! :annoyed:

LATEST: Another wave - of up to one metre - could hit New Zealand in the next hour, after today's earthquake and tsunami that devastated Samoa.

815244 2009-09-30 01:05:00 Man, imagine being hit by a 1 metre wave. I dunno if I'd survive. --Wolf-- (128)
815245 2009-09-30 01:50:00 Went up the hill above St Heliers Bay. There is a children's playground at sea level at one end with plenty of kids. Mums with kids on the beach. No one told them, it seems. No one even had the decency to tell the seagulls.

The only people who had any fun were the cops. There were at least four cars running up and down the hill. Why they were going up and down the hill many times was only known to them. Something to justify their existence, perhaps?

11.12am came and went. A real non-event. Think I'll go back to watching the grass grow.
