814507 2009-09-28 12:00:00 Probably not, Sweep, but the same threads come up time and time again in these very objective police reports: "suffering injuries", "interviewing a number of people", "a police cordon has been established", "the girl's death has been referred to the coroner".

The big question is, what as a community can we do, or are willing to do about it?

In your first post it was mentioned:-
"Waikato Police are awaiting the results of a post-mortem being carried out in Auckland today on the body of a young Morrinsville girl who died in Waikato Hospital overnight (27 September)."

The Police are the the law enforcement agency in this matter and they seem to be holding a wait and see approach at the time of that report.

Another report I read more or less gave me the idea that the post-mortem was not conclusive as to the actual cause of death and further tests or enquiries need to be made.

For your "big question" I have some ideas but as I don't live in Morrinsville I can't comment and I may add I don't live in your Community either so therefore can't comment either.

What I can do as a person that lives in my community is to try to look after myself and family first so that I can try to look after others second.

I look after my neighbours for example. If I saw people over the fence removing items I thought should not be removed I would probably try to do something about it. But then these items may be being removed quite legally being repossesed or collected by a bailiff for example. I have no silver bullet unfortunately.

PressF1 members may be considered a community for example as the group is composed of people that ask for help and some help and some don't.

Some people just arrive here to push products called spam. Fortunately as a community we have Moderators who do a very good job on a (mostly) thankless task.

Personally I try not to go jumping to conclusions based on media reports and I have found over several years that the first reports are largely based on opinion rather than fact.
:)

YMMV.

www.radionz.co.nz

To quote the last sentence verbatim:-

"They say it will take several days and are warning people not to draw any conclusions on the cause of death prematurely, until they get the results."

A crime almost as serious has been committed in the mangled English of the quote.
