| 1108553 | 2010-06-10 00:10:00 | Can I boot a PC that doesn't have a graphics card or on-board graphics? I'm trying to do some troubleshooting and want to eliminate the graphics card from the equation. If I boot, it looks like it stops fairly on in the process, but of course without graphics I can't check! I don't have a spare graphics card. | Tony (4941) | ||

You can use some kind of remote network shell (e.g. ssh, telnet, rsh etc) or a serial console in order to examine the system without requiring a graphics card. |

| 1108558 | 2010-06-10 00:25:00 | Can you borrow a known good one?Probably not. It is a really old mobo with just PCI and AGP. I lied partially in the earlier post, I do have a good card, but it is PCI express. | Tony (4941) | ||

The remote network thing is a good idea, but beyond my capabilities, I fear. |

I doubt it will be possible even if you knew how to do it, as Erayd said, without a video card most BIOS should just beep (I think 8 times) to tell you there is no graphics card\it's faulty. What is the actual problem you're having? |

What is the actual problem you're having?Intermittent lockups. I'll start a new thread so as to not confuse the issue. When I took out the card, I didn't get any beeps at all. |
