815816 2009-10-01 02:07:00 Just got a letter from Telecom, the basic message is:

Go Large will be closed down on 30th October.
If you switch to Big Time from Go Large before 30th October you will get $10 off for the first 3 months
If you do nothing, you will automatically get switched to the Explorer plan

Explorer plan is $49.95, has a 10GB cap and is ADSL2+ full speed down/up (But dialup speeds after you exceed the cap)

Yes :)

Crap, I thought everyone got off that years ago.

No, as a lot of people got off it, it slowly got better :D

I am not looking forward to going to Big Time!! (We are thinking about going their)

815820 2009-10-01 02:41:00 Yeah, I'm still on it. Sometimes good sometimes just horrible, mostly just enough so I don't complain.

Probably go on Big Time though. Just another one of Telecom's way of sucking in more money I guess.

815822 2009-10-01 03:08:00 I'm on Go Large but haven't received the letter yet. What is the price of Big Time?

Probably doesn't matter to me as I never get anywhere near 10GB, in fact I lived comfortably inside 2GB until my son got on his computer and started download his university stuff, but you never know, and I'm getting a new computer soon so I'll go to ADSL-2 at the same time and that may change things. :D

I guess my biggest concern would be if I lost my full speed up and down, I've had that since day-one umpteen years ago when my cap was 1GB.

Explorer sounds OK for me though. Same as-same as.

Cheers

815823 2009-10-01 03:09:00 Big Time is $10 more than Go Large, eg: $59.95 (Go Large is $49.95)

Big Time also has fullspeed down and up and is ADSL2+ compatible
