1109696 2010-06-13 03:13:00 Is that the trend these days? Do they still have ink heads be it user replacement.

I was just playing around with a older printer and they have a separate ink head and ink cartrdges.

I have a newer 2004 model printer that just have user-swappable ink cartrdiges but not heads, unless you send it away.

1109697 2010-06-13 05:05:00 Some do. SOme don't. It's annoying because they stop making replacement heads for them before the thing is 5 minutes old, happened to me with one, couldn't find a head anywhere...... pctek (84)
1109698 2010-06-13 05:27:00 Given how cheap inkjet printers are nowadays, they really aren't worth repairing. You're better of chucking it out and getting a new one, as the print heads will probably cost you more than the printer itself. somebody (208)

Well no. Last price I found for them was $99, but the printer cost a lot more than that cause it was a business printer.
Not one of those cheap use ink like it's leaking things.

1109701 2010-06-13 08:59:00 My 2004 printer cost like $900US :D well I got it used.
Plus portable laptop printers are not cheap.

1109702 2010-06-13 09:07:00 It's sad that we have become a throwaway society instead of a fixit and she'll be right one. Yes it is often more expensive to fix it but the alternative is more landfill. I fix when I can rather than just buy new, most of my computer stuff gets recycled down the pile until its completely worn out before going off to Eday gary67 (56)
1109703 2010-06-13 09:56:00 I'm sick of inkjets. Colour lasers are cheap enough these days. Every inkjet I've ever had has either dried up and clogged up from too little use, or ended up printing white lines every 5mm or so after a year or so. Then again, I've never bought an overly expensive one. I'd rather spend it on a low end laser than a high end inkjet. ryanjames.powell (13554)
1109704 2010-06-13 20:55:00 don't print color on lasers - that's b/w for business work for me .

color i only print on photographic media .
