817068 2009-10-05 06:09:00 Hey ya all

Im looking for setup top box for 19" widescreen LCD, something like the Pixelview PlayTV Box 5 ( . prolink . com . tw/style/content/CN-08-2cp2/product_detail . asp?lang=2&customer_id=1470&name_id=36169&rid=17008&id=75368" target="_blank">www . prolink . com . tw), where it has VGA out and Video-In . However would prefer to have built in Freeview/DVB-T support . The closest device that I've come across is the AVerTV DVB-T STB7 ( . avermedia . com/avertv/Product/ProductDetail . aspx?Id=41" target="_blank">www . avermedia . com), has everything that Im aftering except for a Video-IN . This is important because the setup will have a satellite receiver attached to it .

I know some may be asking doesnt the satellite receiver already receive freeview, the answer is yes and no . The family that Im setting this thing up is aftering the chineseTv channel . Which oddly enough is only offered in DVB-T (non-satellite), not DVB-S, hence freeview via DVB-T is a must .

Their tv only has RF IN however have a spare 19" LCD, which currently Im suggesting to dump the tv and use the LCD with a TV Box, which then will have the DVB-T receiver and satellite receiver attached to it . As some of you guys can already imagine, this is a very nasty setup, 3 boxes = 3 remotes, 3 power adapters . So Im aftering a box that have DVB-T built-in, at the same time, allows Video-In so I can attach a satellite receiver into it .

Any suggestions would be great? Im also aftering shops that sells lots of random pc devices, something like OCZone, where they have lots of misc . pc devices .

Many thanks in advance .

817069 2009-10-05 06:19:00 Even if you manage to get a tuner that supports DVB-S and T, I doubt you'll be able to see both at the same time. Its either one or the other. If they / you can connect a computer to this monitor, get a USB or PCI DVB-T tuner. But it'd have to be a pretty recent computer, and pretty fast (depending on what the system reqs are for the tuner) Speedy Gonzales (78)
817070 2009-10-05 06:30:00 Yep that has already been considered, one channel at a time is completely fine with them. So now I just need something that is not so space consuming. CCF (6760)
817071 2009-10-05 06:39:00 So, if they've got a sat receiver, what was that plugged into, if the tv has only got RF in? Even if you manage to find something that can take the receiver, you would still need a satellite dish (I take it there's a dish somewhere)? Since video in, wont have the connection for a satellite receiver to receive satellite (if you dont have a dish). Speedy Gonzales (78)
817072 2009-10-05 06:57:00 Currently the satellite receiver is connected to the tv via RF port on both devices. The satellite receiver part is no problem, this was setup several months ago prior to them needing/wanting the chineseTv channel.

Because the to-be setup will have two devices, one DVB-T and another DVB-S, I need at least one Video-In, as another device can be connected via RF-In. As finding a tv box with 2 AV-In with VGA-Out will be way out of budget.

While searching I just came across the perfect device, the VideoMate W800F (www.comprousa.com), but NZ dont seem to have it. So anything similar to this item would be great.

Forgot to note, they do have UHF antenna, hence DVB-T is not a problem.
