The reason the trials were done on animal models such as cats is that the behavioural outcomes that are manifested are honest and true.

In the sense that, if a drug that is designed to increase happiness is given to a human, he or she has the ability to modify his or her facial expression to show a sad face even though he or she should be experiencing happiness right now.

816319 2009-10-03 03:46:00 The trials were done on cats because humans are too shifty for the trials purpose of detecting honesty. the_bogan (9949)
816320 2009-10-03 03:48:00 So what if the chemicals ingested by the dog plast a smile on its face but its brain is getting royally screwed?

LCD for example?, It can make you smile like a fool and inwardly your world is falling apart.....

816323 2009-10-03 04:01:00 The reason trials were carried out on on animals such as cats, is because the behaviours exhibited are not faked, as might well happen with subjects who are human.
