2010-06-15 06:10:00 | Hello again. My last PC cost about $2500 3 or 4 years ago and its done well,so this time i'll throw an extra 500 or 1000.I love my games so it needs to be grunty and with a wee bit of space as I only have 160gb at the moment. Thanks heaps for the help so far.I'm starting to get a little excited now, there seems to be way more to choose from now. | sk69ersnz (13476) | |
2010-06-15 06:13:00 | This is what Computer Lounge recommends.Don't know about Blue-Ray though. Intel Core i5 750 Lynnfield 2.66Ghz 8MB LGA1156 ASUS P7P55D-E LX Intel p55 Core i7/i5/i3 DDR3 LGA1156 Prolimatech Megahalems CPU Cooler Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB 7200RPM SATA II Samsung SH-B083A 8x Blu-Ray Combo Drive SATA ASUS ATI Radeon HD5870 GDDR5 1GB PCI-E Logitech G110 Gaming Keyboard Logitech MX518 Gaming Mouse Corsair HX650 650W Modular Power Supply LG W2353V-PF 23" 2ms 1080P Full HD Monitor Lian-Li Dragonlord PC-K62B Black Interior Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit OEM Standard Hardware Installation and Configuration Total = $3059 Incl GST This gives you something that will play anything on the market with max settings, 1TB of fast storage, gaming mouse and keyboard, 23" screen and blu-ray playback :)

2010-06-15 06:21:00 | I'd be swapping the Samsung HD for a Seagate or WD | Sweep (90) | |
2010-06-15 09:00:00 | Spinpoint are great drives.....the case would be too bling for me though....great cpu cooler, should get 4ghz out of that cpu easy! | SolMiester (139) | |
2010-06-15 22:50:00 | If you're happy with that, go with it. If it were me, I'd swap the BluRay for an SSD or just save the money. Really depends if you see yourself using it. Spinpoint drives are fine. +1 to SolMiester. Nice comp. That's probably the most I'd ever endorse someone spending on a desktop ever....

2010-06-16 04:08:00 | With proper elaborate watercooling, 980X i7 and all the premium parts you could easily go over $9000.....even $12000 if you're having two of those 6-core Intels! Then I could get a world airfare within specified km's, live in backpackers, do my computing in internet cafes.

Hate Samsung HDD's, they are fine right up to the moment they die :P , personnel experience. The Prolimatech Megahalems CPU Cooler is great if you plan to overclock now or down the track, otherwise not necessary. Am I being blind or is the ram not listed, persume 4gig? Pretty much the price I expected, looks fine. |
