Microsoft Security Essentials is a good free AV.
Click on the HJT link in Speedie's post and you'll find out :), it will allow you to see and make a report log to us, so we can see what progs are running on your computer (be it good:thumbs: or bad:devil).

okay i went to the system icon and heres what i got:
System: XP version 2002
Computer: intel pentium III processor 996 MHz, 128 MB of RAM

and i will go to his link and post back when i am finished. and if i didnt mention before thanks you guys for trying to help me figure out how to fix my computer.
