I would send a choccy fish or two but Xtra seems a little slow at the moment probably due to school holidays I guess.

816860 2009-10-05 00:52:00 Apparently his attempts to move the earth were a bit thwarted, let us hope he has more luck with the medical fraternity - and quick. This weather must improve someday, and he should be out in it when the sun returns. R2x1 (4628)
816861 2009-10-05 02:50:00 Well when we arrived the ward door was locked. I asked some lady if that was to lock us out or them in.

Winston said that's not entirely a joke as he had a head injury and was randomly trying to get up get dressed and leave at weird hours of the night - to go to work.
Also he was getting up to go get the lambs in too (he grew up on a farm).

He has a cast on his right hand - wrecked the thumb tendon (he had to ask the doctors if they'd noticed that after a week) and a collar on his neck as he broke a vertebrae, or maybe two? Didn't damage the spinal cord, the ambulance people put the collar on straight away out in the Caitlins and then flew him to hospital. But he for sure broke his neck.

Must have come off and landed on his head.

He doesn't know what happened, it was on tar seal. and he said they weren't going that fast. You can't out there - parts are rather curvy though.

He's not sure if he will replace the bike. It apparently looks alright but the insurance have declared it a right-off.
He said he has to think of wife and kids too.

He seems his usual chirpy self although he says it's misleading as he's not really well yet. He gets serious dizziness when he sits up and stuff still.

His wife turned up as they are letting him out today apparently so we wandered off then.

He was touched by the attention - I said he's famous all over the forum today - no doubt he'll be able to jump on soon once he's home. He didn't have his laptop as the hospital as no net access for patients.

Oh and he said there are a apparently a lot of comments on the Biker forum which Metla knows about......

Thanks for the update, Sounds like pretty serious stuff. I hope the recovery goes well. A neck injury will probably be there in some form for life.

The Biker forum is many many times the size of Pressf1 and if it was being discussed then I missed it entirely until last night when this thread was posted.
