So naturally the students are worse than the crims and should be behind bars or hung drawn and quartered etc. I know that if I was to take out a loan and defaulted I would lose my collateral. You don't pay you lose it. |

Students should not have to take out a loan anyway to complete the education they need or want. When Helen Clarke was around she did not have to get a student loan and Education was free sort of mostly. However I will say that some people can't be educated even if they stay in school until retirement age when they can collect Superannuation. If I was in Government you would get a student loan but there is no way I would let you leave New Zealand while the said loan remains unpaid much like I could be detained if I owed a fine. The student, presumably has learnt something in higher education so the Government puts them on a bond to work in schools, trades, and etc to pass on that knowledge to those who want or need it. I know of people who got a student loan and used same for purposes not intended. Not saying all students are like that but you can't deny it happens. |
