1111378 2010-06-18 10:23:00 How do I recover this Eee PC to factory defaults? He has misplaced the recovery DVD.

I have tried the following: 1. disabled Boot Booster in BIOS, saved settings and reboot.

2. Pressed F9 repeatedly after turning ON the ON switch which is supposed to bring up the recovery dialogue box but nothing happens.

I can't loads Windows now. Tried save mode to no avail.

What shall I do other than :badpc: ?

Can I load an ordinary Win XP to it?

It runs pretty well but I wouldn't say beautifully.

The problem is most distros seem targeted to the 900 series and higher, the 701 has really only Leeenux specifically for it.

Leeenux does run well but there are a few bugs, and you also get issues with some windows being cut off because of the small resolution.

Obviously you can use the Asus distro but I didn't like it much. I can put up with the bugs.

Pretty sure it's the same as an ordinary reset button on a desktop. I had to use it when XP locked up.

It's a 901 little toy.

No. Can't find any reset button.

Tried to install XP HOme from a USB flash drive but sadly, it doesn't accept the CD Key from the COA sticker.
