1110987 2010-06-17 08:21:00 Could go for a coolermaster gladiator 600 case, that's got an inbuild 500w psu, and it runs my 5770 awright. A fair amount of space in there too, although my gigabyte ud4 (next model up from yours) has right angled sata ports and the drive bays do partially obstruct the cables. you can still fit them in, but you have to squeeze them a bit.
Not sure if the ud3 has right angled brackets but yeah check that out before you go for it.
Still, they do make an alright combination.

If you're going for a gaming setup, are you sure wireless is the best idea? You could just go for a microsoft desktop 600, or a genius office keyboard and a basic gaming mouse like I did. The keyboard feels nice, despite being pretty simple, and the mouse I got is a nice chunky 3200 DPI ocz one.

Also, you might want to spring for the i5 750.
It's a true quad core so you're likely to get a bit more out of it than a hyper threaded dual core. Also, since you're putting in a 5770, you won't need the inbuilt graphics, nor will you be able to use them without a different motherboard.

Oh and edit, you could cheap out a bit on the ram. While it is an important component, the brand isn't really going to have a massive impact on speed, whereas something like a next level up graphics card will.

Put it this way, my machine cost me exactly $1400 and does me nicely in most cases.

1110988 2010-06-17 08:35:00 It might want a hard drive in it which will add to the price. Sweep (90)
1110989 2010-06-17 08:38:00 sorry it has 500gb caviar black HDD ill check into those parts, thanks very much, any more suggestions? the case i chose is the same price and also comes with a 500w psu smithinator (15240)
1110990 2010-06-17 08:42:00 oh ok go for it then. 8ftmetalhaed (14526)
1110991 2010-06-17 08:52:00 Does your friend already have a copy of windows to install on it? Greven (91)
1110992 2010-06-17 08:57:00 no win 7 64bit is included in price, the price jump up to the 750 CPU takes it over budget it would work if i didn't have to get a mouse keyboard and speakers smithinator (15240)
1110993 2010-06-17 11:18:00 i edited a few things:

core i5 750 + gigabyte GA-H55M-S2H motherboard + kingston hyperX 2x2gb ram = $702 combo deal

Windows 7 64bit home:www.computerlounge.co.nz

LG dvd drive: www.computerlounge.co.nz

500gb caviar black HDD: www.computerlounge.co.nz

HIS 5750 GPU: www.computerlounge.co.nz

Case + PSU: www.computerlounge.co.nz

Speakers: www.computerlounge.co.nz

Mouse + Keyboard: www.computerlounge.co.nz

i think this build works i don't think its a good idea to use the TV as the primary screen myself but he seems to want to so....yeah but other than that what do you think, note the keyboard and mouse must be wireless so he can use his TV for the screen total cost $1520 only slightly over budget, i just want to make sure this will play most games out right? and the GPU wont have any trouble running on a 32inch LCD TV i don't think its HD but will check tomorrow.

1110994 2010-06-17 11:53:00 So he doesn't have a stereo to hook up instead of comp speakers?

If so, save the money there and get a 5770.

I don't think you mentioned what this comp is for though... so what's it for?

1110995 2010-06-17 14:01:00 And they don't say what make of PSU is in that case either. I'd be a bit annoyed if it was a Hyena for example. Sweep (90)
