2010-06-16 04:30:00 | Just bought a xfx5770 and a Corsair HX650watt PSU. Installed in my computer: Gigabyte GA-M52S-S3P. Rev 2.0. AMD Anthlon 4400+ 2.3Ghz 3 Gb DDR2 Ram for some reason, turn machine on, Fans sping up. it goes " Tick Tock" as if its restarting but fans dont lose power, does this 5-10 times before it posts and carrys on happily. With the old card, 8600GTS, i didnt have this problem. Is there anyways to fix it? Thanks, Josh :)

2010-06-16 04:58:00 | Okay, you have 20/24 motherboard power plugged int, 4 pin cpu power in, GPU power plugged in!... Now you say the old PSU did same thing?, sounds like it took out the motherboard also!

2010-06-16 05:02:00 | 24 pin in Yes. 4 pin 12V yes. 6 Pin GPU Yes. Old Psu, Same thing. Taken 5770 GPU out, Tested in other machine, i5 750, 620w PSU. card runs perfectly. Where as when Card is on Machine in OP, it makes the ticking sound 5-6 times before posting. After posting card runs fine, boots windows and everything. so computer is running and working. Just dont think the tick tocking thing before POST should be happening.

2010-06-16 05:35:00 | on a closer look, could it be the graphics card? While the System is " Ticking" it goes Power on, GPU fan high, GPU fan normal, Tick, Fan slows, Tock, Fan normal, Tick, Speed slows, Tock, Back to normal. Happens 6 times normally.

2010-06-16 06:24:00 | I dont use or know enough about ATi cards to comment on the tick tock....It may have to do with the PCIe slot....The card is made for v2, your motherboard is 1 only, however I thought any issues were with bandwidth, not compatibility | SolMiester (139) | |

Thank you =D Last question, Can it cause damage to the card by running it in a v1 pci-e Slot? |
