1110652 2010-06-21 00:32:00 Hi, So please tell me how do I go about for a better outcome. How do I check if I've AciveArmor in the PC (I typed in Search and also in the Programme files to find nil) and which other drives should I be aware of. If nothing works, please also suggest what is the best alternative. As I said, except for this, the PC is working well. Thanks. namboothiri (14469)
1110653 2010-06-21 00:43:00 Get teamviewer, if you want, and I'll look from here. Send the ID and password in teamviewer, once you install it to me in a PM Speedy Gonzales (78)

Have you tried creating one primary partition containing one drive and then one extended partition containing three logical drives on this affected physical drive?

1110655 2010-06-21 01:33:00 Thanks guys. Yes, Sweep I did. That's where I ended up with the last (4th) logical partition formatted to FAT32. In the meantime, Speedy, I've installed the 'Legacy' Drive just now. I've yet to see how this has ended up. I also insntalled 'NVidea ForeceWare Network Access Manager although I don't know what it has to do with my internet connections. Now will look for the Teamviewer and keep you posted. In a new turn of events, I had to pull out the HD as the FAT32 partition also started to disappear and slow down the PC. Thanks again. namboothiri (14469)
1110656 2010-06-21 01:47:00 Uninstall Nvidia forceware network access manager, thats Nvidia firewall, which gets installed with the chipset drivers. Its got nothing to do with your internet connection. BUT, it can corrupt files you download, and cause a lot of other probs Speedy Gonzales (78)
1110657 2010-06-21 01:56:00 There seems to be some confusion here. You don't get logical partitions you can have logical drives within an extended partition. A primary partition can only contain one drive letter however.

Just wanted to make sure we are on the same page.

1110658 2010-06-21 04:02:00 Hi Sweep you are right in all respects. Yes, I am also confused with Primary, Extended, Logical etc. I chose Logical from the window that showed Primary as well when doing it. And I understand that Logical is a further division of an extension left over after the primary. If I'm wrong please correct. Thanks namboothiri (14469)
1110659 2010-06-21 12:49:00 It is the term that I used in confusion. 'Logical' as you have said has to be a Drive and not a Partition because it forms within the extended portion. Correct? Thanks. namboothiri (14469)

Correct. I am trying to elicit info from you that may help others diagnose the problem and probably better than I can.

So knowing this as you now do what are you attempting to do and how are you trying to do it?

Or are you now happy with what you currently have?
