Avast and ZoneAlarm has worked for me for many years in Windows XP, without having to reinstall Windows once in those years, hence I'm using them now. Also I like them because they don't hog system resources like Norton does. |

Microsoft security essentials is a good free option Malwarebytes and Spybot are good anti malware applications. Running Highjackthis and posting the log on here so Speedy can take a look is also a good idea. |
