| 1111092 | 2010-06-19 06:43:00 | how is your internet connection? dialup or broadband and is it fast or have you been capped? the internet browser may give up after a while . I've got Slingshot broadband . 15GB cap, I think . Haven't run out in a while . I'm using a Belkin ADSL2 wireless modem, although this computer is plugged in with an ethernet cable . This computer is also gruntier than either the laptop or, obviously, the iPod touch, and yet neither of them (both of which access the internet wirelessly) have the same problem . Neither of them use McAfee either, I have to admit . |

| 1111093 | 2010-06-20 06:39:00 | I FIXED IT!!! Woohoo! Turns out it was my router after all. Apparently some Belkin routers are vulnerable to imaginary "syn floods". Loading images in something like Google Images can provoke the router. I don't know what caused this problem to begin, but I appear to have gotten it to stop by increasing the "Maximum incomplete TCP/UDP sessions number from same host" in my router's settings. Someone just commented in my thread on the Google Help forums, saying that that was how they'd fixed the problem on their computer. |
