1110712 2010-06-17 01:31:00 Panic over. Brett from some mysterious other techy dept in Vodafone had the answer, after 15 million calls and getting forwarded to the call centre all morning. They couldn't get past "Click Start.....". pctek (84)
1110713 2010-06-17 02:01:00 What was the change? utopian201 (6245)
1110714 2010-06-17 02:59:00 Its my modem. Works perfectly. Just coincidently decided it no longer resolves DNS anymore, I wondered as entering them in the modem didn't help, I had to enter them via WIndows. Alas I can't even RMA it, pctek (84)
1110715 2010-06-17 03:06:00 Strange. Still having the the echoing problems on the phone line though?
And I know the feeling when dealing with tech support, none of them have the answer nor do they know anyone who would.
And I had one person change my connection type without telling me to try and restabilise my connection, but all it did was half my connection bandwidth, raise my ping and didn't fix the problem at all.

I tried to put OpenDNS in my router once, it didn't work either.

I doubt your router is the problem

1110719 2010-06-17 07:06:00 Maybe it handles the new network differently? Agent_24 (57)
1110720 2010-06-17 08:26:00 I'm quick to blame vodafone/wiring because I've had my problems across 3 modems of different brands and prices, and had them configured properly in all cases yet only have them fail anywhere from once every few days to once every 20 minutes. I don't doubt that it's not my fault but I've become a little blase about the whole thing because despite it obviously not being my fault vodafone still refuses to figure out what is wrong themselves. 8ftmetalhaed (14526)

But the ancient old Billion can handle it? nah, tossed the modem, bought a new one.
