| 1111198 | 2010-06-17 23:58:00 | Hi all My mate has asked if there is anyway to get his files off his old external drive which doesnt work anymore, when plugging the mini usb the external drive nothing happens there is a red led indicator light which does not light up. I have pulled it appart and inside is a samsung travelstar 20GB drive, it is quite small and this plugs into a pcb with what almost looks like an IDE connection but its slightly smaller, and the drive has 4 pins to one side that the connector doesnt utalise. Obvously I'm hoping that the drive itself is fine and just the PCB has failed ANy ideas? cable of some sort maybe |

| 1111200 | 2010-06-18 00:28:00 | You can also buy a new enclosure, Something like this (www.ascent.co.nz) from ascent - put the HDD back in and away you go. Had to do that exact thing to a customers external DSE drive earlier this week - the HDD was fine, just the Enclosures Circuit board went belly up. |
