| 1452717 | 2018-08-14 11:34:00 | Everytime I (re)start my pc, Windows tries to update. It seems that it keeps restarting at 19%, and after doing so two times it concludes it couldn't update the pc, so it undoes the changes and starts windows. The updates have been failing for weeks now and it starts to get annoying and worrying. This is a screenshot of the update history, notice how many times it has tried. gyazo.com I have already tried the Windows Update troubleshooter, it was no good. Thanks in advance! |

Heres a screen shot from the link. 9004 A possible fix could be the softwaredistrubition folder is corrupted. One way to find out -- Start the PC in safe mode, several ways as described www.digitalcitizen.life Once in safe mode, go to C:\Windows - Scroll down till you find the SoftwareDistribution Folder, rename it to SoftwareDistribution.old NOTE: you MUST do this in safe mode. 9005 Then restart the computer normally. Either manually run windows updates, or using the link 1101 posted, download the ISO and install 1803 from that or update now. Saying you are in a hurry -- NOT A GOOD IDEA -- The upgrades can take many hours, the last few I 've done have taken anywhere from 4 1/2 - 6 hours. During this time you cant use the computer at all !! If it still doesn't upgrade then you have some system corruption that would need to be sorted first. |
