I agree Roscoe, all your posts so far have been very entertaining and a wonderful source of friendly banter amongst us all .....they promote conversation and most of all get us all thinking about the alternatives that are out there...

Seriously yours LL

Thanks very much for your support LL. It's good to know that you enjoy my posts. Let's keep up the friendly banter, rather than what these two have been posting.

Thank you.

1452928 2018-09-01 10:08:00 I agree with LL. :)

If a subject annoys the reader, just leave that post alone. Simple isn't it? ;)

Thank you for your encouragement, Ken. It's good to know that there are some nice people on this forum.

I tend to remember the friendly people rather than the nasties.

1452930 2018-09-02 05:42:00 Back to the OP ---

I prefer to say that the person (or dog, cat, banana slug, parrot, et al.) has "assumed room temperature".

It kinda gets the point across without all the goofy euphemisms.

Ah ha... but what if room temperature is 37 degrees (98.6 degrees for youse Myanmarians, Liberians and Americanians :))

1452932 2018-09-02 06:56:00 It's seldom that it's that hot here.

We had a couple of 100F days here a week or so ago -

-- but I bet you can tell if someone is at room temperature and they are dead at the same time - the aroma will be a give away.

1452933 2018-09-02 07:42:00 Might be difficult to tell a child that another child - perhaps a friend/pupil has disappeared (say absent from school) and will expire. When I was 10, one of our friends was absent. I use to speak to him when cycling to school (The old Raleigh sports bike), and he was on his bike - but stopped coming to school. Never knew why, until after he did die (leukemia I think). The teacher rounded us up and told us that in fact he did die...

Because of the quiet nature if his death - he was sick, vanished from school, and isolated from us - forgot about him for over 40 odd years - but he came to me several months back in a vivid dream. Bothered me a bit. He might want me to visit him....wherever he is...
