1453169 2018-08-31 23:07:00 Have looked at a Toyota Prius. plod (107)
1453170 2018-09-01 01:03:00 Bought it

www.trademe.co.nz 23b

Wasn't too bad for a dealer, traded in old one, getting service, reg, full tank etc.
And discounted, he pretty much accepted my much lower offer.
With not too much arguing about stuff.

Checked it ou, Jap service stickers match odometer, fluids all good, steering good, brakes awesome, turning circle amazing, trans better than current car and even though same 1500cc rating, this has better take off, and not too gutless on hills either.

And the seats, oh lovely, up high, right angle.

Husband OK with storage, just not used the pedal handbrake yet, lol....

Wife’s car has the peddle break. Coming from my manual Corolla to her auto, a few time I have mistaken it for a clutch. And no not when moving plod (107)

Yes.
I care not.
It's cute.

1453173 2018-09-02 01:32:00 Reminds me of a oversize Toyota IST that I inspected at Budget cars. I think having cash might put one in a more seemingly commanding position, and the dealer in a more flexible mode for discounting. Happened to me once when I had heaps of cash when I bought a Hiace.

You might find unnoticed or hidden features - Isofix and tether mounts, and Auto lights. I wondered why several drivers had their headlights on, during the day, in a underground car park. Then realised my Nissan headlights were on as well.

1453174 2018-09-02 23:38:00 Too late to be helpful but I have a printed copy of the Dog and Lemon guide from 2010 so anything older than that I can look up.
The Toyota Rush isn't in it, but according to google it's a Daihatsu Terios with a Toyota badge on it and based largely on the previous RAV4

The authors didn't like the car much but that's largely personal opinion and they did rate the reliability as excellent.
The only two comments that look worth mentioning to me are be careful in strong crosswinds as it gets blown around a bit and don't expect any kind of off road ability. Of course that comes from 2010 so maybe some people still had the illusion these things weren't just road cars.

Yes, I know . Same as an Avanza apparently .
I don't want a 4x4, or big thing .
This is kind of like one, but smaller .

It does apparently have a full chassis . yay .
