1450566 2018-06-18 01:05:00 So is mine. Why hide them? They're not bright....it's a dim glow when in the dark. One of the cats has a basket in front of it, he's not bothered by it either....

It's not far from our TV. Same line of sight. Distracting. Esp at night with a dimmed room.

One of the cats has a basket in front of it, he's not bothered by it either....I don't really fancy having that device and wires stuck exposed on the wall. You can see right through my TV table so I am concerned it will be distracting.

I'm back to favouring the garage and put in Cat6 wiring to the lounge. Do the ONT installers undertake that sort of work as a chargeable "extra" or will I need to sort that out myself?

I have a bit of time to decide as I'm down a ROW with 9 other houses so everyone has 15 days to object (class 2 installation). I know I am not the only owner requesting fibre. If you are unaware, apparently late 2017 they changed the law so people can only object on very limited grounds, and a no-reply is considered a no objection.

The scoping document is quite complex with two IFDBs (not sure what they are) and a lot of micro-trenching past the driveways off the ROW, so I am also guessing that work will take time.

1450569 2018-06-18 09:50:00 with two IFDBs (not sure what they are) ...Google tells me they are Indoor Fibre Distribution Boxes. These are showing on the plan as being outside on the driveway, not indoor? Hope they are waterproof as the driveway has been flooded in the past with over 3 feet of water. Jen (38)
1450570 2018-06-18 21:37:00 Good decision going cable to TV, but you will be lucky to keep things tidy if my rats nest is anything to go by! If you need multiple ethernet connections at the TV area you will need a switch or wifi router/switch if you need a better wifi signal there.

You will need to get the cable done yourself. Hope it is an easy one! I am lucky as mine goes through the corner of the garage ceiling straight into the TV area.

Those 'ROWs' can be a pain so hope all goes smoothly.

Cheers.

1450571 2018-06-18 23:32:00 The installers are generally sub contractors being paid a fixed fee so you can ask them but odds are they will want to be in and out as quickly as possible and on to the next one. dugimodo (138)
