1453484 2018-09-11 04:56:00 $1545.

Toyota say the master key is missing. It needs this to be able to program a key.
So cost of that, cost of the 3 hours labour plus cost of another key.

Mr Dealer said no he'll do the "alternative". I said I don't want some car thief 3rd party dodgy thing, and he said fine, your choice.

So I have to pay it.
Apparently I have to go through Disputes now or live with it.

Missed a bit....total $1918 actually.

Knew it.

It wasn't just a matter of another key.

Didn't know why exactly, but I knew there was more to it....

1453487 2018-09-11 06:12:00 Fight them -- Start spouting the CGA -- Not fit for Purpose, they meant to have fixed it when first purchased but it broke again (same problem) shortly after -- If it was faulty from the start, the dealer has to fix it. www.consumerprotection.govt.nz wainuitech (129)

So it's pay Toyota and then take it to Disputes.

being a business it's better, but I have been to Disputes before, no guarantee of actually getting paid out, even if you win.
Yes, talked to MTA. It's Disputes.

This thing was $8700. Haha, now it's $10700. more or less.

My A60, you could start it with a 5c coin...sigh, those were the days.

1453490 2018-09-11 06:32:00 If you have all your i's dotted and T's crossed regarding your purchase, you might want to chase FairGo with this one

It's no more than a Ripoff on the Dealers part

1453491 2018-09-11 06:36:00 Oh dear, a common problem, so will it be a case of "Caveat Emptor" (Let the Buyer beware)?

And then there is the small matter of the fine print in the "Sales and Purchase Agreement"?

I can see this thread exceeding Tony & Wainui's on "Windows 10 --- Latest Tech Preview" in length. ;)

1453493 2018-09-11 06:53:00 he said (in effect) get stuffed. Errrrrrrrrrrr Wrong answer from the dealer - they cant say that and ignore it.

First point in the previous link.

Dealers must:

comply with the Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA), which gives you guarantees for new and used vehicles
