1453399 2018-09-07 08:05:00 There - I fixed it for you.

We do set stumps on fire - with lots of AG-Red diesel fuel (gasoline is too expensive) and some old engine oil to keep it burning a long time.

Well I follow wranglerstar (www.youtube.com) (YT vid axe sharpening) and he uses stones; But my silco carbide rough side of the stone has gone smooth as the opposite smooth side (but the bevel edge is of course still rough) over years of use. Kind of like smooth drum brake shoes. Maybe use my rasp to roughen it? Filing with my old school files is OK if slow. But now quickly use my bench grinder for axe sharpening, but create too many angles.

Think I stretched the chain, keeps popping off after retensioning, or worn the plate/gear/sprocket or whatever clasping it internally? Chain need sharpening but seems too tedious...

1453402 2018-09-07 09:05:00 Chop off any bark around the stump, and down to below ground level . Any splits will hasten rot. Laggard (17509)
1453403 2018-09-07 11:40:00 I'm trying out some Cut N Paste, will see how it goes www.cutnpaste.co.nz
Kerosene is supposed to be good too, doesn't half stink though.
