Go to the Windows 7 Machine -- Navigate to the mail store folder C:\Users\yourlogon\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail Note: AppData is a hidden file so make sure they are visible first. In the account folder, it will be your ISP named,EG 12345spark.co.nz. Copy the whole contents to a USB drive. This will copy everything, all folders, attachments, multifolder structure -the LOT. In the W10, install Windows live mail. You will have to download it fully as an offline installer as Microsoft have now killed it. You can get fromhttp://download.digiex.net/Apps/WindowsLive/2012/wlsetup-all-2012-16.4.3528.331.zip Unzip that file and install Live mail (its 130MB) You may have to allow .netframework to install. Create the account again in W10, don't test for any new mails/ the connection, Close WLM. Now navigate to the Store folder (again App Data is hidden) Plug in the USB drive, now copy the complete contents on the USB from W7. Open WLM and all your mails should populate. NOW you can export to Outlook. This works generally, but on the odd occasion it doesn't. Once imported and working you can uninstall WLM and remove the store folder if you want. |

| 1451262 | 2018-07-08 22:10:00 | go for the easiest method :) in WLM, create a 2nd imap a/c copy all OLD email to the inbox of the new imap a/c , copy the OLD sent,drafts etc folders into the imap inbox . Wait for everything to sync. can take quite some time if a lot of email & slow internet up speed. Now all your email will be in the cloud . You'll need imap on the new PC to download it all. Possible Issue may be setting up the 2nd a/c in WLM, it may not like 2 a/c with the same email adress , but worth a try. Also could have issues with email mailbox size limit if you have a crappy email service , not so likely though. |

Wait for everything to sync. can take quite some time if a . That depends on who the email provider is as well. If its a Microsoft account - Forget it, WLM doesn't work any more with imap. Even places like spark and google give the occasional problem with WLM. That's why I asked who the mail is with ( #6) - but never got a reply. |
