1451079	2018-07-01 07:35:00	I was just googling a similar cable with the box in the middle the one online said no support HDCP. It looks like DVI comes in DVI-A analog or DVI-I analog and digital or DVI-D digital only. The smaller cheap adapters without the box is called passive that works with analog or analog and digital video cards only. Maybe they were more common in the past with my 2009 video card but they are rare these days. These days they may be only DVI-D digital only and therefore needs the box in the cable to do the conversion. They're called active converters.	Nomad (952)

HDCP is digital only & needs to be implicitly supported (ie certified) by every step in the path (from memory) I think you can buy devices to bypass/remove it , but they arnt legal :) (bypassing copy protection)	1101 (13337)
