1452724 2018-08-15 08:15:00 What is the tube installed under the passenger side glove box. It has its own rack (two clip like supports). I can find no references for it on the Internet.

I have just purchased a Toyota Blade and it did have one and the handbook refers to it. However, the handbook is in Japanese. Any thoughts?

1452725 2018-08-15 08:22:00 Fire extinguisher holder? allblack (6574)
1452726 2018-08-15 08:25:00 Don't know, could be. It's maybe 6" and maybe 1" diameter. It unscrews in the middle to give length of maybe 12". Bryan (147)
1452727 2018-08-15 08:29:00 Well they come in different sizes, but dollars to donuts that's what it'll be. allblack (6574)
1452728 2018-08-15 09:08:00 Possibly a flare. I remember a lot of the jap imports came with them in the late 80s/90s plod (107)
1452729 2018-08-15 09:13:00 i doubt its a fire extinguisher, its far to small.

1452731 2018-08-15 09:16:00 It's one of the pipes that make up the internet.
It's only short, just to stop MS from trying to update your clock and cigar lighter. These updates are fairly large, and would reduce the top speed, range and reliability (almost as well as Lucas equipment) so they need a very long internet connection. The short interweb tube stops the updates nearly as efficiently as MS.

1452732 2018-08-15 09:48:00 Thank you Plod. I found this "Cars in Japan are required to carry a red flare. This is to be used to notify others of an emergency, such as a car being broken down on a level crossing. In most cases your imported car will still have the flare in situ: they are usually clipped to the side of the passenger foot well" Bryan (147)
1452733 2018-08-15 11:08:00 Surprised it’s still in there. Many moons ago when I was grooming fresh imports for various companies we always took them out plod (107)
