| 1450740 | 2018-06-18 23:29:00 | I know there are alternatives to both these products, but I'm interested in an issue that seems to affect MS Publisher when using MS Print to PDF. I also know I can "save as PDF" from Publisher. If I "MS print to PDF" from Publisher it looks like it changes all the text to images, which means the resultant PDF looks awful when displayed at anything other than full size or larger. The PDF does seem to print OK(ish). If I use MS print to PDF from Word (for instance) this doesn't seem to happen, so it looks like it is a Publisher issue rather than a printer driver issue. I've tried various free PDF creators and they don't seem to exhibit this behaviour, but I'm helping a friend and don't want to install extra software on her PC if I can avoid it. For the obsessively interested, I am looking at this because we want to create a grayscale PDF from a colour document, "save as PDF" won't let you do that, whereas the print to PDF will. There doesn't seem to be a way to change a whole doc to grayscale - it would have to be done image by image - which is not a practical solution. Any suggestions? |
