| 1112380 | 2010-06-22 03:24:00 | Currently have a standard usb printer therefore the computer it is attached to has to be on for it to work. Our network set up is phone jack > adsl broadband 4 port router(DLink) > wireless 4 port router(netgear) > computers (both wireless and wired) We have two network printers (Fuji Xerox's docuprint C1618 and 240A) which we are hoping to set up on the network that runs 24/7 so that anyone on the network can print from them. Is this possible with our current setup or would we require something different like a server. And if it is possible how so. Thanks |

| 1112386 | 2010-06-22 05:54:00 | Should be easy enough to set up - this is for the C1618 first Download the Manual (www.fujixeroxprinters.com.au) on pages 12 Onwards it shows you how to set up the IP address ( which buttons/Menu to push). Set the IP address to the same range of your router, EG: 192.168.1.???. With ??? being a number not already in use ranging usually from 2-254. (you may have to go around every PC) and locate its IP address first -- you can only have one node/device with a IP address on the same LAN, set the Printer out of the same general range (wrong wording but)-- Say the PC's are using 192.168.1.2, 192.168.1.3, 192.168.1.5 set the printer to 192.168.1.100 Connect the printer to the Router Via a Ethernet cable. On the PC's - Go into add printers, depending on your OS's will depend on exactly how you proceed, but basically its the same for most OS's -- Add printer/ networked Printer - most you can scan for, other wise type in the IP address you gave the printer. Once found it may ask for LAN drivers for the printer so have them handy. usually they install, and away you go. Repeat for other Printer and all PC's that require access to the printers. |
