1112147 2010-06-21 10:31:00 I would investigate a modular Corsair PSU for that.

The HX series is modular so like this one for example:-

Enermax is another reliable brand.

that does look good im hoping to spend a bit less though. so is 650w the min to go for for my system ?

1112149 2010-06-21 11:16:00 No. You probably only need 500w. I suggested the HX series as it's modular and thus makes for tidy cabling. If you are not worried about that then any 500w - 550w Corsair would be more than adequate to run what you have.

Another thing to consider is that you may want to put more goodies in the case later and go SLI or whatever in which case you won't need to get another PSU will you.

Are you sure the gpu needs 30 amps? You may need to specially made to order a PSU which can deliver 30 Amps!

Do the research on the GPU.

1112153 2010-06-21 14:39:00 I'm running a similar system on an Enermax Modu82+ 625 Watt, no problems at all Agent_24 (57)
1112154 2010-06-21 21:15:00 Corsair. It's the cheaper of the quality brands, and you don't put cheap nasty PSUs in PCs. pctek (84)
1112155 2010-06-22 05:30:00 I've used corsair moulder power supply's in both of my last two computers and have been very happy with them. They are a bit on the pricey side, but as-long as you get a big enough one they should last you through multiple computer builds. pantera989 (14533)
