820233 2009-10-13 17:40:00 Every morning, I wake up just before 5am. My desktop runs 24/7, so the first thing I notice is some African women message me, a different one every day, about 5am.

They all ask me what I do for a living, and ask for a photograph. But they never seem to want to share their own.

And they soon stop talking once you. And it get's annoying.

I am beginning to suspect that there are many, many "farms" where such women sit and target men from first world countries. If in fact they are even women (or for that matter human) in the first place.
It's pretty funny talking to them.

Anyone else get such messages from the lost continent?

What you get otherwise is spam, in yet another flavour.

Even with this setting, I get the (very) occasional unsolicited "invitation", but I just block them and tick the "Report this person for abuse" box.

It's worse when you have a common Chinese name. :badpc:

Just curious here.

I was asked to change a misspelled SURNAME from "Ho Jun Song" to "Ho Jun Sung". This on a web site I maintain.

Am I correct in thinking that the SURNAME is actually "Ho" or not?

That's my understanding.

It's a good idea to get an understanding of these things considering that we have large communities of Chinese and other immigrants in NZ
